Meet Lil Sweetie
Let me first introduce myself. I am Lil Sweetie and I am so happy to be a part of the Sweat Community! I am sure you are wondering, "what does Lil Sweetie know about health and fitness?" and "how did she meet Lil Sweaty?" This is no normal "boy meets girl" love story...or is it?
I have been working on my fitness goals for over 10 years. As we all know and hear, fitness and health truly is a "journey" and a "lifestyle." It is not a fad diet or workout and there is no end destination, progress can always be made. I am proof of this. I started my fitness journey and, just like everyone else, I needed a change. I realized I wanted to age as easily as possible and still maintain mobility, I was tired of having low energy levels, and I just did not feel good about myself.
More about Lil Sweetie
I love running, competing in bodybuilding shows, meal prepping, tower climbing, and peanut butter is my ultimate weakness. I am from Vermont born and raised so naturally Ben & Jerry's and maple syrup are major comfort foods for me. I went to Lasell College in Newton Massachusetts for my Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising and later got my Master's Degree from Drexel University in Global & International Education with a concentration in Higher Education. I currently work full time in Student Affairs planning events and activities for a Cal State University. I also teach Spin part time on the weekends.
So how did I meet Lil Sweaty?
One day I was at the gym working out as I always do when Lil Sweaty came walking into the gym. I immediately noticed him. I mean, how could you not notice such a man? I continued my work out went to go get a kettlebell for some kettlebell swings. As I went reaching for the 40lb kettlebell I bumped into Lil' Sweaty grabbing the same kettlebell for a warm up. We both laughed and said, "Excuse me" and the rest was history. I had my apprehensions dating just "another trainer" but Lil Sweaty was different. He was not just "another trainer" or "bro" he was extremely kind, supportive of my goals, and made me laugh.
We went out on a few dates, played in puddles, drank coffee together, and even when to a Kings Hockey game. It did not take long for me to fall for Lil Sweaty and to notice how clumsy he was but luckily I found it very charming. 2 years later and we are still going strong sharing protein, supplements, and fitness tips. He is also still my favorite person to workout with and the best spotter at the gym.
I am truly excited about joining the Sweat City Fitness family and cannot wait to share my experiences, advice, and recipes. Stay tuned for more information on the everyday girls guide staying fit and happy.
You know what they say...the couple that sweats together stays together.
