Fall Turkey Chili


Fall Turkey Chili Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 lb of Lean ground turkey

  • 1 Package of McCormick chili seasoning (I get the hot one or similar brand/heat level)

  • 1 Green pepper

  • 1 Red or Yellow pepper

  • 1 Can of diced tomato

  • 1 Cup of chopped onion

  • 1/2 Tsp. of fresh or dried garlic

  • 1/2 Tsp. of red chili flakes

Directions

  1. Heat a large pot on medium to high heat.

  2. Brown ground turkey, chopped onion, salt, and pepper.

  3. Drain any remaining liquid in the pot and return to medium heat.

  4. Add one can of diced tomato, chopped peppers, chili seasoning packet, garlic, and chili flakes. (You can also put all ingredients into the slow cooker for an even easier and tastier option.)

  5. Let the chili simmer on the stove at low heat for 30 minutes or longer (remember the longer this simmers or stays in the slow cooker the more flavor there will be).

  6. Enjoy!

Optional Ingredients To Add

  • Jalapenos for more spice

  • Corn

  • Beans

  • Potato

  • Peas

  • Salsa

  • Sour Cream

  • Cheese

  • Ground Beef

Eat this chili alone or with celery dippers, with a salad, with zoodles, in a bread bowl, with whole wheat pita, chips, as a topping to a burger, or even with a fried egg on top!

Pro Tip: If you don't have a chili seasoning mix you can make your own by adding chili powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, and salsa. This is all to taste so just put some in, let it cook, taste it, and add whatever is missing. I find the seasoning packets are the EASIEST way to create a real POP of flavor. Not to mention they are a HUGE bang for your buck!
