The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.

FITNESS IS LIKE A RELATIONSHIP. YOU CAN'T CHEAT AND EXPECT IT TO WORK

Develop a positive relationship with your workouts and being healthy. The more respect you have for your health the less likely you are to cheat yourself out of a good workout. Instead of cheating on your fitness, look for ways to make it more do-able or make your workout more efficient and shorter.

IF IT DOESN'T CHALLENGE YOU, IT WON'T CHANGE YOU

You have to challenge yourself to see results. If it is easy you aren't going to get the results you want. My personal philosophy in the gym is if I feel like I can't do it, or don't want to do it, chances are it's what I NEED to do. Sprint a little longer, lift a little heavier, try something new.

USE THE 21/90 RULE. IT TAKES 21 DAYS FOR IT TO BECOME A HABIT. IT TAKES 90 DAYS FOR IT TO BECOME A LIFESTYLE

People will often try new things for a few days or even a week and give up because they are uncomfortable. Try something for 21 days and it'll get easier. Keep going to make it become a lifestyle. If you can stick to your new routing for 21 days you are more likely to stick with it for the long run.

RESPECT YOUR BODY IT'S THE ONLY ONE YOU GET

It can be easy to think of your body as your enemy. Treat your body with respect and think of all the amazing things it can do for you. Fill it with nutrient-rich foods, stretch, foam roll, and give it rest.

COMMITMENT IS STAYING TRUE TO WHAT YOU SAID YOU'D DO, LONG AFTER THE MOOD LEFT YOU

You won't always feel motivated to workout. Long after the motivation ends it'll be your dedication to doing what you said you will do that will keep you going. Don't let lack of motivation for one day let you quit on yourself.

Keep your eye on the prize and remember your hard work will pay off. Remember the reasons you are working out.

striving for progress is the only way to reach perfection. Instead of avoiding a goal altogether, find a way to progress into doing it. It's easy to avoid things we aren't good at but if we set small achievable goals to progress to our long term goal it'll be easier to keep moving forward.
